Kathleen and Bill Jaeger started KBJ Art Hawai'i in 2005 on the Big Island of Hawai'i.
They are currently members of The Kailua Village Artists, Inc. ,
the Waimea Arts Council, and the Hamakua Artisan's Guild.
They are active in Kona United Methodist Church where incorporating art into the church has become a part of their ministry.
Their studio, in the lower level of their home, is usually in need of a cleaning.
"The Curious Gecko" is named for the many small creatures who share their home.

As an art therapist, artist Kathleen Jaeger made use of a variety of approaches to keep her young clients engaged and interested in the creative process.  In so doing, she became proficient with a variety of media which gives her multiple options as she determines how best to communicate the image in her head to the world. She primarily works in stained glass mosaic or acrylic paint.
She thinks seven year olds are great.

Always busy, our gecko and his cousins maintain constant surveillance of both the yard and the interior of the house and studio.  You may even see him monitoring this website.  It is a big job and it is good he has so much help.  He especially likes orange soda.

Bill Jaeger first learned the art of stained glass a number of years ago, but his career with the Colgate-Palmolive Company prevented his doing much with it at that time.  Moving to the Big Island of Hawai'i after retirement gave him the opportunity to rekindle his interest in this artform.
He is greatly inspired by the beauty of Hawai'i and somehow finds time between rounds of golf to get to the studio where he enjoys designing and creating items reflecting Island life.
